I'm heading off to some small but gorgeous festivals in July to give sessions in Somatic Experiencing and Hypnotherapy ... first to Buddhafield (www.buddhafield.com) for some family fun and healing .. you'll find me under a tree somewhere in a tipi-style canvas tent. And later to a private festival up North! Susi Kaiser, my colleague, will still be running The Holistic Fertility Service at the Hale Clinic during this time ..
I've been reflecting on how gratifying it is to see how effective techniques like hypotherapy can be - yesterday I saw a client who after a single hypnotherapy session changed her diet for the better and more to the point, found the willpower to overcome sugar cravings which she used to find irresistible ... in any case, I gave her a second session to fortify the messages in the first ... I'm looking forward to hearing her feedback on that one. If you want to find out more about what hypnotherapy does, check out my website. Fertility Detox Launch
From today, The Holistic Fertility Service, run by myself and colleague Susi Kaiser, is launching an innovative must-have service for all women hoping to conceive.
Available at London's Hale Clinic, The Fertility Detox is a three-month program designed to cleanse the body of artificial pollutants and optimise reproductive health. build up optimal nutrition and teach women valuable relaxation techniques to combat stress before, during and after conception.
Unique aspects of The Fertility Detox are abdominal massage which encourages the correct position of the womb in the pelvis and relieves abdominal congestion. Meanwhile herbal medicines are given to detoxify the body, with emphasis on the reproductive area.
‘We use detoxifying herbal medicine, nutrition and abdominal massage, to cleanse a woman’s body,’ says Anastasia Stephens, medical herbalist and co-founder of the Holistic Fertility Service. ‘Hypnotherapy and relaxation methods are also given help a woman combat stress.’
Over 600,000 babies are born in the UK each year. However, scientists are increasingly concerned that the ‘chemical cocktail’ which builds up in a woman’s body over the course of her lifetime could harm the health of her unborn baby – in ways that are as yet unknown. Modern-day stress levels also have a negative effect with a mother’s anxiety triggering raised adrenaline levels in her unborn baby.
Over three months, women receive:
Detoxifying herbs & supplements
Herbal medicines to boost womb health
Guidelines for a cleansing diet
Hypnotherapy for conception & relaxation techniques
Abdominal massage to position the womb optimally for conception
Initial consultations (75mins) £95, follow up consultations (60-mins) £85. Emotional Springclean?
The daffs are out, the sun is shining and spring is everyones step .. mine too. I've just been attending a seminar in Somatic Experiencing. If you're wondering what its about, SE is a method originally designed to treat post-traumatic stress. In reality, its application is much wider. It can be used to process all sorts of uncomfotable emotions and difficult life-events. What I like about it is the way it gets to the core of these issues quickly and transforms them gently yet effectively.I'm one of the first practitioners in the UK to offer this therapy. Emotional Springclean?
The daff's are finally out, the sun is shining and there's a spring in people's step .. mine too. I'm feeling inspired after attending a seminar on a technique called Somatic Experiencing. What on Earth? I hear you think. It's a techique that was originally designed to heal post-traumatic stress. In reality its application is much wider. Helping restore balance to the nervous system, it helps people process uncomfotable emotions and difficult situations from the past. What I love about it is the way it gets to the core of peoples issues very quickly an transforms them, kindly and gently. Its educational too and people can be taught to apply the basic techniques in their everyday life.I'm one of the first practitioners to offer it in the UK. If you're interested, check it out here ..

I've just launched a new herbal beauty treatment. Read on to find out more ...‘WISDOM FACIAL’ AT HALE CLINIC TO TACKLE BEAUTY PRESSURE
The Wisdom Facial, a new treatment at London’s Hale Clinic, claims to offer an antidote to Beauty Pressure, the latest affliction to affect women.
In the recent International Beauty Regimes Survey, British women were found to feel the most pressure to look good. 59% acknowledged there is increasing pressure on them to look attractive. This compares to just 49% of American women and 30% of Italian women who feel similarly pressured.
In response to this Anastasia Stephens, of London’s Hale Clinic has developed The Wisdom Facial. The non-surgical phytomedical treatment is a 3-in-1 therapy in which women receive a herbal facial, an anti-aging tonic and a sumptuous inner-beauty visualization.
Health professionals worry that Beauty Pressure could be having an adverse effect on women’s health and wellbeing, leading to low self-esteem and unrealistic diet goals. The Wisdom Facial aims to redress the balance - by enhancing outer beauty while recognizing the importance of the inner beauty that exists in all women, of all ages.
Treatment begins with an organic herbal facial, using plant extracts such as chamomile, green tea, cedarwood and rose to suit different skin types. Starting with a herbal steam bath, a serum steeped in powerful anti-aging herbal oils is applied with a gentle massage. Creams and masks are also applied.
During the facial, a visualisation invites clients to explore their own sense of inner beauty and to strengthen their connection to it. ‘This unique aspect of the treatment acts as an antidote to beauty pressure, helping clients to connect to their beauty from within, not look outwards to change themselves,’ says Anastasia Stephens, Medical Herbalist and Hypnotherapist.
‘It recognizes that when we accept ourselves as we are and feel good, we have a special presence or sparkle. When this presence animates us from within, we become incredibly attractive.’
The third aspect of The Wisdom Facial involves a brief medical assessment after which an anti-aging herbal tonic is prepared to strengthen the body from within.
‘Phytochemicals are now widely recognized for their anti-aging effects,’ says Anastasia. ‘Packed with antioxidants, they’re capable of preserving our tissue structure, repairing damage and protecting cells from age-related degeneration. For optimal effects, it’s important that anti-aging herbs are given internally and not just applied externally.’ For further info contact Anastasia Stephens at The Hale Clinic, tel: 020 7631 0156, www.haleclinic.com
