‘WISDOM FACIAL’ AT HALE CLINIC TO TACKLE BEAUTY PRESSURE
The Wisdom Facial, a new treatment at London’s Hale Clinic, claims to offer an antidote to Beauty Pressure, the latest affliction to affect women.
In the recent International Beauty Regimes Survey, British women were found to feel the most pressure to look good. 59% acknowledged there is increasing pressure on them to look attractive. This compares to just 49% of American women and 30% of Italian women who feel similarly pressured.
In response to this Anastasia Stephens, of London’s Hale Clinic has developed The Wisdom Facial. The non-surgical phytomedical treatment is a 3-in-1 therapy in which women receive a herbal facial, an anti-aging tonic and a sumptuous inner-beauty visualization.
Health professionals worry that Beauty Pressure could be having an adverse effect on women’s health and wellbeing, leading to low self-esteem and unrealistic diet goals. The Wisdom Facial aims to redress the balance - by enhancing outer beauty while recognizing the importance of the inner beauty that exists in all women, of all ages.
Treatment begins with an organic herbal facial, using plant extracts such as chamomile, green tea, cedarwood and rose to suit different skin types. Starting with a herbal steam bath, a serum steeped in powerful anti-aging herbal oils is applied with a gentle massage. Creams and masks are also applied.
During the facial, a visualisation invites clients to explore their own sense of inner beauty and to strengthen their connection to it. ‘This unique aspect of the treatment acts as an antidote to beauty pressure, helping clients to connect to their beauty from within, not look outwards to change themselves,’ says Anastasia Stephens, Medical Herbalist and Hypnotherapist.
‘It recognizes that when we accept ourselves as we are and feel good, we have a special presence or sparkle. When this presence animates us from within, we become incredibly attractive.’
The third aspect of The Wisdom Facial involves a brief medical assessment after which an anti-aging herbal tonic is prepared to strengthen the body from within.
‘Phytochemicals are now widely recognized for their anti-aging effects,’ says Anastasia. ‘Packed with antioxidants, they’re capable of preserving our tissue structure, repairing damage and protecting cells from age-related degeneration. For optimal effects, it’s important that anti-aging herbs are given internally and not just applied externally.’ For further info contact Anastasia Stephens at The Hale Clinic, tel: 020 7631 0156, www.haleclinic.com
